Hi, Herb...
I'm curious about the statement, "The kit will be built straight “out of the box” with no after-market add ons.".
Does this mean scratch-building is allowed as long as it is not "aftermarket" per se?
I have a rough time not adding little bits to a model such as aerials, brake lines, etc.
Thanks!

OK scratch building is not allowed for this build.
Out of the box means a commercially available kit. After market means commercially available PE, white metal, resin, etc.
You can use stuff from your "junk" drawer.

I too , have a hard time not adding ignition wires, opening up exhaust and carb air inlets, etc... But feel I have a good grasp of what can be done from the "junk drawer". My question, is it permissable to share pics of the build with members of another forum? For example, I have been involved in a Group Build at Fine Scale's forums. The build is almost expired, but ,one possible entry I have would be of related interest to the other members of said group build. Would I be permitted to share pics with these people?

you can post the pictures anywhere you want. Also what I mean by scratch building is replacing a kit supplied assembly with a scratch built one, ore building the whole thing from scratch. Improving kit detail, such as opening vents or exhaust manifolds is allowed.
My philosophy with this build is to have people of all skills able to compete on a "level field".

What about display Herb? Diorama, simple base without groundwork, no base? Do you want model only for judging? Please clarify. Thanks, razorboy

Just the model with a simple base. We will have a Diorama contest in the future.

Hey Karl,

So the winners will not be posted in the thread? When you say in the Dec issue is there a magazine?
