Thank you for putting this online contest on and hope you enjoy going back to 1962 to the US Nationals when Hayden Proffitt won the Super Stock Eliminator class over the dodge boys. Attachments:

This looks absolutely great Chas. My favorite type and era of drag car. Perhaps I can dig up a Mopar or Ford for you to race with. Dave B.

Thanks Dave, To all that has looked at it... Last week I got to talk to Hayden Proffitt for the first time as it was rumer that he passed on, After contacting his son Brad Proffitt out in LA he let me talk to his father about the car. Harold Clay who did the replica 1:1 car of his and also a good friend of Hayden Mr Phil Reed told me that they both thought that the car ran at Indy did not have the 409 on the hood like all the pics that I have seen at the track that day was to far to see the top of the hood. After talking to Hayden he confirm that there was the 409 on the hood as it was replacing the hood, fenders, bumpers and such off the car that Frank Sanders (owner of S and S headers) ran at Detroit the week before. Frank ran a twin car but in FX with all the aluminum parts on the car with the 425hp package motor.
So long story short the hood will be replaced in a couple of weeks with the 409 hood.

Hood shot of the 409 on the hood.. The tires are turn, I also set the caster and camber as to what the tires would be leaning as if they were turned to that point. ( When you make working steering that is one thing on a model that does not work right, caster or camber) Attachments:

This shows how I ran the emergincy brake line at the front point ( Note there is not enuff room to make the right braket that would be just in front of the trans mount this is why I hooked it to the trans mount ) Attachments:

The back showing the emergincy brake lines coming out of the tunnel and going into rubber pertection lines. ( Note there is not enuff room to do the mounts for this as they would run in the same area as the gas and normal brake lines run in braket.) Also you can see on the exhaust the wire them up to the stock location with braces in there stock location to the NHRA Rules. Attachments:
