OK, I am coming into this a little late but I didn't want to let this contest go with only one entry, so here goes.... The subject line wouldn't let me enter all the information that I'm supposed to. It should read: Stargazer Models 1/144 scale 2001: Discovery, Karl Dodenhoff, N. Dighton, Massachusetts, USA I don't get the newspaper so improvised a bit and included a copy of the October issue of Fine Scale Modeler magazine in my photo of the model box top. I did, however, have the foresight to take a photo of the open box with the parts in it when I started this build. I can't show all the pieces still on the sprue, for obvious reasons. Now, let the fun begin! Attachments:

Here's the pod bay with the 3 pods. The center one will be shown being deployed out the hatch. The other 2 will essentially become invisible once it's installed in the sphere, so I didn't bother detailing them. Attachments:

this is why it's harder to build resin models than styrene ones! This is the underside of the pod bay, showing the brass rods I inserted in order to hold up the left and right pod platforms to give them some extra strength. Attachments:

Been going at it a little. Not much time this week for model building. Here's the inside of the Command Module bridge. Most of this detail will disappear once the two hemispheres are glued together, but a little will be visible when the light is turned on. Attachments:

.....and, here a teensy weensy little space suit to go inside the pod bay. Bottle of Testors enamel paint is for scale. This will definitely disappear when the hemispheres are glued together, but we'll all know it's in there. Attachments:

Dave? What are you doing,Dave? LOL Seriously, Looking good . I'm also a "I know it's there" detail person. Often it's those little out of the way things that make people take a closer second look. Howard
